(SAN FRANCISCO, February 5, 2019)—Need to Impeach Founder Tom Steyer released the below statement following Donald Trump’s State of the Union address:

“Thanks to Donald Trump, the oval office is mired in a culture of corruption unseen in modern political history. No amount of showmanship or false promises from tonight’s speech will change that. The only way to save our Democracy from this lawless president is for Congress to step up, listen to the 7.2 million Americans who are calling for impeachment, and start the process to remove Donald Trump immediately.”

Steyer launched Need to Impeach on October 20, 2017, with an initial $40 million investment to raise the voices of people across the country who were angered by Trump’s presidency and policies. Last month, Steyer committed an additional $40 million in 2019 toward impeaching Trump.
