The Billboard encourages the public to join over 2.5 million Americans in signing the impeachment petition

(NEW YORK, November 20, 2017)— Today, Tom Steyer unveiled billboards in New York City’s Time Square as part of the Need to Impeach effort. The billboards display the number of petition signers, currently over 2.5 million, and encourages the public to join them by signing on at NeedtoImpeach.com. The ad will run through New Years’ Eve and will be on display for ten minutes every hour.

“Donald Trump has more than met the standard for impeachment, and yet, Congress sits idly by while Trump continues to make dangerous decisions on behalf of our country,” said Tom Steyer. “It is time to give a voice to the millions of Americans who want a better future for themselves and their families.”

Need To Impeach is an effort started by Steyer calling on the accountability of lawmakers to take a stand on impeaching Trump. The billboard is backed by an eight-figure national television campaign asking people to sign the petition, which reached 1 million signatures in its first week. The campaign has also drawn the attention of Donald Trump and Fox News,, with Trump tweeting to denounce the campaign and Fox News pulling the ad from its airwaves because of backlash from its viewers.

Last week, Need To Impeach also released a new one minute ad on the destructive Republican tax plan that will create permanent tax cuts for corporations, force big cuts to Medicare and add $1.7 trillion to the deficit.
