Brad Deutsch of Garvey Schubert Barer Has Joined Need To Impeach To Spearhead Legal Department

(SAN FRANCISCO, November 3, 2017)—Tom Steyer’s Need To Impeach effort announced today that Brad Deutsch of Garvey Schubert Barer has joined the Need To Impeach team. Deutsch previously served as General Counsel to Bernie 2016, the presidential campaign of Senator Bernie Sanders and currently serves as General Counsel to the social welfare organization Our Revolution.

“Donald Trump is a clear and present danger to the health and safety of Americans, and over the last 14 days, 1.5 million Americans have come together to demand their elected officials take a stand on impeachment,” said Tom Steyer. “We’re thrilled that Brad is joining our team, and with his help, we’re going to make sure every American hears our message and has the opportunity to join us.”

“I’m excited to stand alongside Tom and the Need To Impeach team to fight any attempts to censor Need To Impeach’s message,” said Deutsch. “There’s nothing more powerful than American citizens exercising their First Amendment rights to speech and using that speech to build a movement of people.”

Deutsch served for eight years as Chief of Staff and Senior Legal Advisor to Commissioner Steven T. Walther at the Federal Election Commission, where he had previously served as Assistant General Counsel. During his tenure at the FEC, Deutsch advised Commissioner Walther, who currently serves as FEC Chairman, on all aspects of Campaign Finance Law and Administrative Law. Deutsch also previously served as Special Assistant to the Chief of the Mass Media Bureau and as a Supervisory Attorney at the Federal Communications Commission.
