The ad will air on all social networks and national television through the holiday season

(SAN FRANCISCO, December 22, 2017)—Today, Need to Impeach Founder Tom Steyer announced the launch of a new social networking and national television ad that will begin airing December 23, 2017 through the holidays highlighting Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation as it closes in on President Donald Trump.

The 30-second ad will officially launch on Steyer’s Facebook and Twitter accounts—which are the backbone of the Need to Impeach movement that Steyer started on October 20, 2017—at 9 a.m. Pacific tomorrow, before premiering on national television on December 26th.

In just two months, more than 3,727,000 million supporters have signed the petition calling for Trump’s impeachment, building momentum alongside Mueller’s ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

“The Need to Impeach campaign is deeply resonating with the American people. More than 3.7 million people have already signed on to our call for Trump’s impeachment, and tens of thousands more join us each day,” said Steyer. “Every news cycle produces more evidence proving this President is unfit for office. And as the case builds, our collective voice grows louder.”

Need To Impeach is an effort started by Steyer calling on the accountability of lawmakers to take a stand on impeaching Trump. The ads are backed by an eight-figure national television initiative asking people to sign the Need to Impeach petition, which reached 1 million signatures in its first week. The campaign has also drawn the attention of Donald Trump and Fox News, with Trump tweeting to denounce the campaign and Fox News pulling the ad from its airwaves because of backlash from its viewers.
