Steyer Hand Delivers a Copy to His Representative, Nancy Pelosi

(WASHINGTON D.C., January 8, 2018)— Today, Tom Steyer and citizen advocates began hand-delivering copies of Michael Wolff’s new book, “Fire and Fury,” to all 535 members of Congress as part of continuing Need to Impeach efforts demanding that elected leaders immediately take action to impeach Donald Trump.

Steyer, who less than three months ago launched the Need to Impeach movement that now has more than 4.1 million supporters, bought copies of the book that provides first-hand accounts of Trump at the center of chaos in the White House. The books will be delivered across Capitol Hill and at district offices across the country over the next several days.

“This President is a clear and present danger to each and every one of us living in this country and he must be removed from power,” said Steyer, who hand delivered the book to his representative, Nancy Pelosi (D-California). “He has already committed multiple impeachable offenses, meeting the historical standard for impeachment. Up to this point, the people we elected to represent us in Washington D.C. have offered countless excuses for not removing him from office. But there is no time left for continued ambivalence.

“His actions and unhinged behavior continue to underscore that he is emotionally unstable and unfit to be President. Our elected Democratic and Republican leaders are morally and constitutionally obligated to take action to protect the well-being and safety of everyone in our country. If they will not begin impeachment proceedings, we will rise up and replace them at the election booth with leaders who will.”

Steyer launched the Need to Impeach movement through television and social networking ads on Oct. 20, 2017, calling on supporters to sign a petition. More than 4.1 million people have since signed the petition, creating a digital army of supporters that many political strategists call one of the most formidable and powerful political tools in Democratic party.
