NTI pivots to pressuring Republican’s on their commitment to the constitution after Democrats unite around impeachment

Washington, D.C. – With the Democratic Caucus solidified around impeachment, Need to Impeach today announced its new strategic decision to leverage its resources into pressuring Senate Republicans on impeachment and their commitment to the U.S. constitution.

As the Washington Post reported, the new push against Senate Republicans will include more than $3 million in TV and digital ads on top of grassroots organizing and mobilizing. Since October 2017, Need to Impeach has built a national movement of 8.3 million Americans committed to urging Congress to do its constitutional duty to impeach Donald Trump. Now, the movement enters its next phase as Senate Republicans attempt to dodge impeachment and Donald Trump’s crimes and corruption.

During the next two weeks, Need to Impeach will be specifically targeting Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ), Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO), Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), and Senator Susan Collins (R-ME). More than half of the $3 million investment will go into TV advertising in major markets within each Senators’ respective states, including heavy investments into local Fox News stations. The other half will be spent on digital ads in these states.

“This investment signals a significant strategic shift for Need to Impeach. For a long time, we’ve known that voters in these states are angry and feel betrayed by Donald Trump’s corruption and their elected politicians’ silence on the issue. We plan on making sure the voices of voters and grassroots activists are heard in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Maine, and beyond. More and more voters are realizing in this moment that politicians cannot represent Americans if they don’t represent American values. And there’s no job more important for U.S. Senators than standing up for the constitution,” said Nathaly Arriola, Executive Director of Need to Impeach.

“Donald Trump is in full panic mode and his campaign is being forced to spend millions of dollars on impeachment because half the country thinks he should be removed from office and a majority think he should be impeached,” said Kevin Mack, Lead Strategist of Need to Impeach. “The President of the United States is unraveling right before our very eyes because of all the pressure he’s facing for his crimes and corruption. That’s why Need to Impeach built a coalition and grassroots movement, so when this moment comes, we don’t let him off the hook.”

Digital ads will begin running immediately with TV ads starting to run Thursday of this week.
