Trump reverses announcement of Russian sanctions

Trump reversed Ambassador Haley’s statement that the U.S. would sanction Russia for its support of the Assad regime in Syria, following a chemical attack last week. For all his claims of toughness, Trump has shown time and time again he is weak on Russian aggression.

Watch: Trump’s inaction on Russian election interference

Trump says he is tougher on Russia than any other President — but he undermines his Administration’s’ efforts to check Russian actions.

“So you will see that Russian sanctions will be coming down,” said U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley. “Secretary Mnuchin will be announcing those on Monday if he hasn’t already.”

But not 24 hours later, the President reversed what his U.N. ambassador had said.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said the White House is “considering additional sanctions on Russia.”

She added a “decision will be made in the near future.”

We can’t wait for Trump to take Russian threats seriously.
