Trump, Jeff Bezos and Amazon

Trump has undermined the free press and the First Amendment time and time again, but this is one of the most blatant abuses of his power yet — trying to personally punish the owner of The Washington Post by attacking his business. Using the government to punish political enemies was one of the articles of impeachment against Richard Nixon. We can’t wait any longer. We #NeedtoImpeach.

Watch: Donald Trump is at war with the press and First Amendment

Donald Trump is trying to use the powers of his office and the federal government to punish a rival, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, who owns the Washington Post, which publishes stories he doesn’t like.

Trump has tried several times this year to pressure the Postmaster General to double Amazon’s shipping rates, which could cost the company billions of dollars.

Some Trump administration officials have even admitted that these attacks against Amazon from Trump have come in response to articles the President disliked.

Trump has undermined the free press and equal protection many times before, but this is one of the most glaring abuses of his power yet. Using the government to punish political enemies was one of the articles of impeachment against Richard Nixon.

We can’t wait any longer: He must be impeached now.
