Watch: Russian payments to Michael Cohen
Donald Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen has spent years trying to get Trump in good graces with Russia — and Vladimir Putin.
Trump discussed a hotel and condo project in Moscow with Cohen on three separate occasions.
In January 2016, Cohen emailed Putin aide Dmitry Peskov, asking him for help in reviving the stalled Trump Tower Moscow.
In February 2017, Cohen teamed up with Trump business associate Felix Sater and pro-Kremlin Ukrainian politician Andrey Artemenko try to establish a backchannel to lift the 2014 sanctions against Russia.
After Trump’s inauguration, Cohen and Sater submitted a Ukrainian peace plan to lift Russia sanctions.
There is nothing normal about Trump’s ties to Russia.
